Terms and Conditions

These terms cover tethery.app, buying Tethery, your account, and Tethery's online services. The software itself is covered by the license agreement, and refunds by the refund policy. Together they are the whole agreement between you and us.

01 Who we are

Tethery is made by Sonder Media House, LLC ("Sonder", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@tethery.app. By using tethery.app, creating an account, or buying or using Tethery, you agree to these terms. If you use Tethery for a company, you agree to them for that company too.

02 What Tethery is

Tethery shows the picture from Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects on a phone or tablet, live, over a network you choose. It is a preview tool. A phone or tablet is not a calibrated reference monitor, and Tethery does not make it one. How it looks and how quickly it arrives depend on your devices, their settings and your network, which we do not control. Before you buy, try the free version on your own setup.

03 The free version

The free version is the whole product with limits: a watermark on the picture, one device at a time, up to 1080p, no sound, no Save frame, and no session notifications. Each day it also gives two minutes of the full version, counted while the picture plays. It is free to use, for any purpose, for as long as you like. We may change those limits in a later version.

04 Buying a license

Products. We sell Tethery for Premiere Pro, Tethery for After Effects, and a bundle of both, which is two licenses. Each is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Prices. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout, in the currency shown. Some prices are offered for a set number of purchases. When that number is reached, the next price applies, and a price shown before then is not a promise that it will still be available when you check out.
Taxes. Prices include sales tax or VAT where it applies.
Payment. Purchases are made through Stripe, which is the seller of record of your purchase. Stripe collects the payment and remits the tax, and its terms of sale also apply.
Delivery. Your license key is shown after payment and emailed to the address you gave. Your purchase is complete when the key is issued.
Mistakes. If a price is shown in error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full before the key is issued.

05 Your license

A license is for one person, on up to two computers they use, Mac or Windows in any mix. It is for the host application it names. The full terms of use are in the license agreement. Updates to Tethery are free for as long as we make it. Separate products and services we may offer later, such as ones with ongoing running costs, are not included and may be sold separately, including by subscription; everything included when you bought stays included.

06 Refunds, and your right to cancel

The free version lets you try everything before you buy, so purchases are final. If something goes wrong, write to us and we will look at it, as the refund policy describes. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you can cancel within 14 days of buying, for any reason, even after you have downloaded and activated Tethery, and we will refund you in full. Nothing in these terms takes that, or any other right the law gives you, away.

07 Your account

Your account is reached through a link we email you, so whoever can read your email can open your account. Keep your email account secure. Your license key is a credential: keep it to yourself, and tell us if someone else has it, so we can replace it.

08 Online services

Activation, your account and the online link at connect.tethery.app run on our servers, and session notifications are only sent for a session on the online link. We work to keep them available, but they may sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Your license renews itself through them whenever Tethery is open on a computer that is online, and works on your own network for up to 30 days at a time without them; after 30 days without renewing, the computer runs the free version until it is online again. A short outage of ours does not affect it. If we ever stop running the online services, we will give at least 90 days' notice, and first release an update that lets licenses keep working without them.

09 What you may not do

Use tethery.app or our online services to break the law, or to harm, overload or interfere with them or with other people's use of them.
Try to get into accounts, sessions or systems that are not yours, or test them for vulnerabilities without our written permission. If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@tethery.app.
Use Tethery to stream material you do not have the right to show.
Copy, scrape or resell tethery.app or the online services.

We may suspend an account or a license that breaks these terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

10 Your work

Your projects, footage and picture are yours, and we claim no rights in them. Tethery sends the picture from your computer to your devices, encrypted from end to end. Today it never passes through our servers. If we ever offer to carry it through our servers, for example when your devices cannot reach each other directly, it will stay encrypted from end to end so that we cannot see it, we will not keep it, and we will update these terms and the privacy policy before that service starts.

11 Our property

Tethery, tethery.app, and the Tethery name and logo belong to Sonder. Adobe, Premiere Pro and After Effects are trademarks of Adobe. iPhone and iPad are trademarks of Apple, and Android is a trademark of Google. None of these companies makes or endorses Tethery.

12 No warranty

To the extent the law allows, tethery.app, Tethery and the online services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. This does not limit any warranty or guarantee that the law gives you and does not allow to be excluded.

13 Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue or data, or for a missed deadline. Our total liability for any claim about Tethery is limited to what you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14 Ending

You can stop using Tethery at any time. Your account and license end if you are refunded, or if we end them for a serious breach of these terms. The sections that by their nature should continue, such as 11 to 13 and 15, continue after that.

15 Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Georgia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please write to us. Most problems can be fixed by email.

16 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we will email customers before it takes effect. A change never takes away a license you have already bought.
